Explain responsive website design??

A responsive website is one that has been designed to respond, or adapt, based on the technology and type of computing device used by the visitor to display the site. It is basically one website design that will looks good at any size  from a large desktop LCD monitor to the smaller screens we use on smartphones and tablets. Responsive design ensures visitors to the site have a similar experience that is independent of the of the size of the device device used to view the site.

In short, responsive web design refers to an approach to designing web pages that ensures they look good regardless of the device used to view them. The goal is to make sure that no matter the screen resolution, window size, or orientation of the device, a web page is legible

Responsive Web design is the approach that suggests that design and development should respond to the user's behavior and environment based on screen size, platform and orientation. The practice consists of a mix of flexible grids and layouts, images and an intelligent use of CSS media queries
