Link farming is done just to increase the link popularity of another site by increasing the number of incoming links. It is look likes a webpage but the hyperlinks are present more rather than the content. Link farming is also considered as black hat method of seo because the content on the website linking to each other may not be inter-related.

In graph theoretic terms, a link farm is a clique. Although some link farms can be created by hand, most are created through automated programs and services. A link farm is a form of spamming the index of a web search engine (sometimes called spamdexing).

A link farm is a website set for the purpose of increasing the link popularity of other sites by increasing the number of incomming links to those sites. They are typically made up of long lists of unrelated links. Most of the search engines remove link farms from their directories when they find them and there is a chance of getting penalized.
