Root Admin Daniel Posted December 24, 2017 Root Admin Report Share Posted December 24, 2017 There may be multiple causes for a sudden ranking drop. Just to name a few: - Your site got a manual penalty from Google staff (Check for any messages from Google in your Google Search Console) - Your site was hit by an automatic algoritm update. Check https://moz.com/google-algorithm-change and https://www.semrush.com/sensor/ if you can match the search engine drop with any Google updates. - Your competitors are doing better SEO than you. Thats more dificult to investigate but you should check the pages that rank better than you and see if they have better content and better links. If thats the cause then you should do an audit to your website and start doing SEO for your website. If you can send me the site in private I can investigate for you free of charge. gauridollar
Hello, If a search engine detects that your click-through rate is extremely low for the position you are ranking, it can easily drop your position. Thank you
Root Admin Daniel Posted December 29, 2017 Root Admin Report Share Posted December 29, 2017 @gauridollar, that's another valid point. If you're getting extremely low CTR then Google will drop your rankings. To prevent this webmasters need to write compelling content and META Description that will make people pick the listing from search results and then read the content

lukejamie07
Suddenly changes in ranking might caused by many reasons like your click through rate is down or bounce rate is high,or your site might be affected by penalty from Google.
