A deep link is a hypertext link to a page on a Web site other than its home page. The "deep" refers to the depth of the page in a site's hierarchical structure of pages. Any page below the top page in the hierarchy (the home page) can thus be considered deep. The term has been given prominence in the legal suit of the Ticketmaster Corporation against Microsoft. A Microsoft-owned site (one of its Sidewalk sites) linked to a page of useful information within the Ticketmaster site, avoiding the Ticketmaster home page. Ticketmaster sued Microsoft for linking without permission, claiming that they were thus being deprived of advertising viewers for the ads on their home page. In fact, their content was appearing within a Microsoft page containing their advertising.

Deeply linking is a tool used by sites to point a guest immediately to a web page within the website instead of the squeeze web page or home web page of the site. This allows in improving the inbound links for a particular web page.

Deep linking is the process of target some of keywords for inner website pages. In this usually we optimize the internal pages of website to get good repsone from search engine against some of the pages. Deep linking has a good impact on website that is search engine index the whole website.

Hi,

One of the most common mistakes that websites make is to optimize only the home page, and increase the Page Rank of just the home page. The inner pages are often neglected. If you have realized the error of your ways and are thinking up ways to increase the PageRank of your inner pages, then let me tell you, nothing works like deep linking! When you engage in deep linking, not only do you receive link juice from the external sites that link to you, but the very act can positively affect the internal link juice flow. The more the number of incoming links to your inner page the higher the rate of link juice transfer from your homepage, what does that result in? Higher PageRank for your inner pages, that’s what!
